EXCITING NEW COLLABORATION

MORNINGSIDE MUSIC BRIDGE, NEW ENGLAND CONSERVATORY and ZEFUNOT CULTURE

INTERNATIONAL SPRINGBOARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG ISRAELI MUSICIANS

The Israeli non-profit “Zefunot Culture” (Secrets of Culture) has been identifying, supporting and promoting outstanding young Israeli musicians since 1997. Past scholarship recipients, musicians and ensembles - many gracing today's international stages - enhance Israel’s much-deserved reputation as a hub for excellence in classical music.

Starting this year, Morningside Music Bridge - the acclaimed Canadian/ Chinese program that encourages, trains and mentors exceptional young musicians, partnered with Zefunot Culture. Together, they are offering live auditions for Israelis, something that has only been available in Poland and China.

​

About 50 aspiring candidates will audition before Morningside Founder, Paul Dornian - an esteemed international judge - to determine who will be included in Morningside’s highly-coveted one-month training program to be held in Boston, July 6th - August 4th, 2017. The Program is run in collaboration with The New England Conservatory of Music.

Israel’s auditions will take place at the magnificent concert hall of the Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies, February 26th-27th. Of the applicants, four will be chosen - receiving full scholarships and travel grants valued at more than $5,000 each. Pianists, violinists, violists and cellists aged 12-18 have been invited to audition.

BREAKING BARRIERS

Generally geographically isolated from the plentiful performing opportunities that exist for their European, Asian and North American counterparts, through this new Zefunot Culture//Morningside Music Bridge Initiative, young Israelis will receive an unparalleled opportunity.

The program brings together the world’s best students, performers and teachers, with faculty drawn from leading music schools, including Curtis Institute of Music,The Juilliard School, Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing), Colburn School, The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Warsaw), New England Conservatory and Vancouver Academy of Music.

In addition to the partner countries Canada, China and Poland, the program attracts students from Japan, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Korea, New Zealand, France, and the United States. Now, for the first time, young Israelis will be included.
