I met the author at a book convention in Las Vegas, NV. I decided to stop at her table when I saw the sign that said “This isn’t your daughter’s vampires”. After reading Twilight with my daughter I knew I wanted something with more badass to it. This book did not disappoint. I love the main character, Dylan. I wish she had a little more confidence about herself. She does know what she wants and she can kick butt. Like most of the reviews I read, it took me a little to get through the first chapter. I could relate to her on being chubby, tight on cash, and tons of student loans. I also know what it is like to have the hot best friend. Once I got past the first chapter I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to just keep reading. I wanted to know who was killing girls, letting all the blood out of them, and just dropping them in random places. I thought I knew who it was a few times, but I was blown away when it went in a different direction. I don’t want to give too much away with spoilers, but I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
