Mail Order Husband is the 2nd book in the Whiskey River Series. Madison and Wyatt are both looking forward fresh start and Whiskey River is the perfect place for it. Madison is single and alone and in need of protection when she decides to send for a mail order husband. Wyatt is tired of being a gambler and wants to go somewhere no one will judge him. He feels very protective of Madison when he sees her picture. This book has suspense, alot of action and good community spirit. My only problem was the character Pete McGregor and how long that the sheriff and townspeople let his harassment go on. We get to hear from Colton and Ella again and catch up with them. This is a clean wholesome western romance and I enjoyed it. This town and it's characters are very interesting to read about.

In all, the story was ok. But I was missing a deeper intimacy between Wyatt and Madison. It felt too platonic for me. Probably I'm a bit a dirty girl. LOL
And this story needed some mending. Like there was too much 'forced smiles' going on. So much, that it started to annoy me even when it was called for the situation. 'She forced a smile...' 'He forced a smile...' It felt like the whole town was full of unhappy people faking happiness.

This is a fast-paced, sweet, clean historical romance. The story is at times heartbreaking, suspenseful, and full of community, and love. The characters are believable, strong, and determined. I enjoyed this visit back to Whisky River and look forward to returning again.

Book 2 in this historical romance series. I'm not one for reading many of these. These are clean romances well compared to most...just kisses only. I kinda liked this one better than the first book. It was written better and flowed more easily. My only hitch was when Madison judged a book by its cover when she shouldn't have. She jumped to conclusions while having her first dinner with Wyatt. He didnt even do anything wrong. Yes, he was approached to play cards but he easily declined. She flips the heck out and is kinda mean to him. Then the next day it was like it never happened. I have to admit that the situation with Pete got really old. There is a such thing as putting too much antagonism in a book to where thats all there is it seems. I'm not quite sure why he was a Main-Order Husband though. Yes, he came as that but they didnt even get married for quite awhile and most MOB stories or husbands in this case its usually within the same day or the next. So that was a little misconception in a way. However, things happen differently with certain couples so I didnt mind so much but its worth mentioning. I really liked Wyatt though. He was a true gentleman and patient with her and gave her the time she needed. He was sweet and protective. Enjoyed reading it.

Madison Taylor moved to Whiskey River searching for a fresh start. Starting out her journey as a mail-order bride, she's convinced she will find her place and with a man she will love. However, the man who bought her is crude and forward and in no way appropriate for a lady, so she runs. She's soon accepted into the Whiskey River patrons and they are helpful to protect her, but she knows Pete won't stop until she does something drastic...
something crazy...
something like...a mail-order husband!

Wyatt Nash is a professional gambler. He's the luckiest man in New York City, but there are too many sore losers and they are convinced he cheats. He's ready to make big changes in his life, and the right woman over hears his conversation and offers him the changes he's looking for.
Traveling to Whiskey River Wyatt is already determined to protect Madison, but he never thought he'd fall in love with her from the minute they met.
Now if only he could get Pete to back off and realize he's not the man for Madison...

This is the second book in this series and I think they should be read in order. Madison came to Whiskey River as a mail-order bride without the help of a matchmaker. She decided not to go through with it when she arrived and meet the man that was to be his husband. When the man won’t leave her alone Madison decides to do something a little different. She gets in contact with a matchmaker and asks for a mail-order husband. Wyatt is ready for a change and decides to take the matchmakers offer. Wyatt and Madison are in for a bumpy road. The man who wants Madison for himself isn’t going to just give up and go away. I really like this series and the characters in it. There life is blissfully simple. Not to say they don’t have anything to worry about. They people in Whiskey River are always there to help each other when needed. Wyatt is a wonderful gentleman. Just what Madison was hoping for. I highly recommend this series.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

This was a great book, it can be read as stand alone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get the most out of it. The characters from the first book are big players and Madison is the female lead in this book and part of her story started in the first book.

Madison was a mail order bride and when she got off the train her soon to be husband was obviously a rotten kind of guy, so she ran for the hills. He is still determined to have her, so she sends off for a mail order husband.

Wyatt is tired of the life he is living and decides to take a chance on Madison and become the protector she needs. He falls for her pretty fast and they really are made for each other.

We also get to see what a great town Whiskey Rivers is and how the people come together in a time of need. I definitely cried a few times. But they were both happy and sad tears. I really want to read more about the Sheriff, he seems like he has an interesting story. Can't wait to read more in the series.

Sweet, clean historical romance that is suspenseful, heartbreaking, fast-paced filled with hopes, dreams and love. The story is believable with very likable characters most of the time that are determined and strong, you can relate to them. I had small issues with Madison and how she dealt with Wyatt at dinner but after that she grew on me. The author put an interesting twist that you don’t normal see in this type of plot.

Madison needs protection, Wyatt is tired of being a gambler, she sends off for a mail order husband he takes her up on the offer. Together they complete each other as they learn what it takes to make a go at love. It is a cute read that I did enjoy, but not as well as the first one in this series. Yes it was worth my time.

Mail order matches continue in this series. Instead of a bride, there is a mail order husband! Wyatt and Madison both need change in their life. Romance is in the air but so is fear and danger...
Entertaining and heartfelt romance with loneliness, misery, fear and heartbreak giving way to hope, family and love. Nicely written and delivered. Hope to see further stories with Sheriff Clark, Mrs. Jenkins and Preacher Henley. 3 1/2 stars.
Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.

Nostalgic story of a Woman with strength and courage.

Story's like this remind me of much different perspective on history. To be a unmarried woman even with means to support one's self. In a time when reputation and respectably were your only protection. Scary yes also so much less so than today's world for many.

Nash and Madison

Nash was a professional gambler. He was an excellent card player and was fed up with folks accusing him of cheating so he becomes a Mail Order Husband. Madison need protection from a crazed and aggressive suitor. Nash is her man. Do they actually fall in love of just have a marriage of convience?

A Town That Pulls Together.

Maddie is hounded by the man who ordered a Mail order bride. She doesn’t want to marry him and sends for a mail order husband. Wyatt wants to reform and settle down. Now the fun begins as Maddie learns to stand up for herself. Good characters who are well rounded. A heartwarming story.

Mail-Order Husband

Most mail Order books are short and sweet, this one is long drawn out. I typically love this type of story. I do enjoy the idea of this book but not having read others I felt bits of the story was lacking and other parts were to much information.

Still I enjoyed the time I had reading this book.
It is not bad.

This was a take on a mail-order marriage that I'd never read before. I'm curious to read about the other characters in this series at some point.

She didn't want to be his mail order bride when she got off train

She ran from the man who had sent for her and sent for her own groom. Story tells how they got rid of first persistent groom.

Mail-order husband

I am binge reading the series and love Whiskey River! Definitely some villains and unsavory people but the majority of the town are fast gaining my heart. Short and sweet read, excellent character development leaving me wanting more!

This was an interesting story. To be a mail order bride and find out your groom is not what you want. Then to have him harass you till the only option you have is to find your own mail order Husband. Wyatt and Madison have a journey to go through to find their HEA
