About this ebook

Can two hearts entwined by hardship move on to form a healthy bond? From the author of His to Love and His to Protect, this tender, bittersweet romance brings together a man who loses everything—and a woman with everything to give.

Chelsea Dwyer arrives home from her job at the middle-school library in Latham Hills, Michigan, expecting another quiet evening—until she hears the screams for help through her living room window. As the first witness to a terrible accident involving two local students, Chelsea doesn’t anticipate how her own life will be irrevocably changed by the father of one of the boys. In the wake of tragedy, she’s the only one who seems to understand his grief. Chelsea’s a survivor, too—and she knows that there are brighter days ahead.

As a single father, Aidan Deveraux worked his entire life to provide a stable home for his son, Derrick. Without him, Aidan feels the deepest despair imaginable. The one thing that keeps him going is his connection with the woman who tried to save his son. Hard as he tries, Aidan just can’t stay away. Chelsea’s warm embrace is the comforting solace he desperately craves—and it doesn’t hurt that Aidan had noticed the beautiful librarian and wanted to ask her out for years. Now that she’s in his life, he doesn’t ever want to let go.

This grabbed me from the first page and wouldn't let go. His to Cherish is the third book in the Fireside series but it can easily be read as a standalone. It’s also the first book I’ve read by Stacey Lynn. I love reading series in order and, even though it wasn’t necessary for the understanding and enjoyment of the story, I wish I had read the other two books. Chelsea was witness to the aftermath of a horrible accident involving two students from the school where she is the librarian. Aidan’s son died in that accident and amidst his grief he feels a connection to Chelsea. I knew when I read the book’s blurb/synopsis that it would most likely be a tearjerker and I was right. The story evoked many strong emotions and once I started reading it I only put it down to sleep and that wasn’t exactly by choice. Some people might find this book a bit too emotional but I loved it. Ms. Lynn’s writing put me into the story and had me feeling everything that the main characters felt. Aidan’s inability to deal with his grief causes many ups and downs in his relationship with Chelsea. She also has some baggage of her own due to her ex. The conflict in the story just seemed to make the characters come back even stronger. Ms. Lynn did a great job of setting up the story line for the next book while at the same time giving this book a very satisfying HEA. I look forward to reading more of her stories. A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

I LOVED this story so much!! Seems like this series just keeps getting better and better. This one is filled with so many emotional ups and downs you stay fixed to the pages to see what happens next. The relationship between Aidan and Chelsea is so touching and as it develops your heart gets gripped just a little bit harder. The passion, pain, and healing of this story make it one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

About the author

Stacey Lynn was raised in the Midwest. Over the long, frigid winters, she would read every book she could get her hands on, from John Grisham and Danielle Steel to Ann M. Martin and C. S. Lewis. She began writing poems and short stories long before she reached high school, and now, as a wife and mother to four children, she finds solace from the craziness of her life by creating steamy, sexy stories. After publishing her first book, what began as a hobby has now turned into an unending passion.
